Lifestyle Medicine – A Call to Action

This message was essential during his life and is still needed very much in 2020 and beyond. There are many things that we cannot and should not be silent about (civil rights, love, faith, freedom, etc.). In my life, one area I choose not to be silent about is the current state of health in America and around the world. 

Roughly 1/3 of people around the world are sick from excess and 1/3 of people around the world are sick from scarcities. This is unacceptable. I believe that we are all being called to action.

The call to action required is to fully understand, live and share the principles and methods to healthy living and lifestyle medicine. 

The American College of Lifestyle Medicine defines Lifestyle Medicine as “the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as a whole food, plant-predominant dietary lifestyle, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connection as a primary therapeutic modality for prevention, treatment and reversal of chronic disease.

I am blessed that I have the opportunity and responsibility to be a part of our newly formed Transform Lifestyle Medicine Alliance; which, consists of a group of professionals who follow a holistic health approach to empower communities and individuals in making sustainable lifestyle changes. Rooted in plant-based nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, our mission is to guide you in the process of transformation toward healthful sustainable living for you, your loved ones, your community and our environment. As we progress in our efforts we will continually serve our gifts (as we are all called to do) and take advantage of opportunities to add value to you.

You matter! Since you matter, your health matters.

We believe that when you want to progress and improve you must follow this simple approach:

The right priorities for you + the right actions for you = a healthier you. 

Back to our call to action: we must all value and commit to healthy living and continually strive to become the best version of ourselves. Consider the words of Margaret Mead – “Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.” 

We, the Transform Lifestyle Medicine Alliance are your friends and partner in this journey to optimal health and well-being and we know that we are better together! In the words of John Maxwell, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!”

On behalf of the team, I want to personally ask for your partnership and commitment to make progress and improve yourself, your community and our environment. We all have a choice, what do you choose?
